[Discuss] Ubuntu LIcense

I understand that when you install Ubuntu you are also installing many other programs. I can research the license on each one as I need them.  What I'm trying to understand is the core software license.When I boot the system after the install it runs software like grub to start a kernel.There may be many drivers and support programs involved as the system becomes available.But is Ubuntu a specific software program that has it's won code? What is the license for that?

Ubuntu itself does not have a license.
 The situation is spelled out in the first two sentences in the first URL which you linked. "Ubuntu is a collection of thousands of computer programs and documents created by a range of individuals, teams and companies.Each of these programs may come under a different licence.
" Thus each of those thousands of programs has its own license. They are mostly GPL, BSD, MIT and other open source and free software licenses. The IP rights policy is not a license. I'm not sure why you are asking about it. The CC-BY-SA application is stated at the start of and only applies to the text of the IP Rights Policy.
