Regular MUG Meeting 

We meet at 6:30pm on the second Tuesday of each month at the Farmington Community Library.

Topics include:

**Emulators**

Desktop computers today don't have any soul. Sure you have your Linux and your Macintosh and your "Windows" but it's all pretty much the same hardware underneath. Why not put those gigahertz to use and emulate the hardware and software of yester-year? Craig Maloney will give a tour of his childhood by showing us how to (legally) run such computers as the IMSAI 8080, the Atari 800XL, the Commodore Amiga, PET and C64, the Spectrum ZX Spectrum series, and even some arcade games. He'll also show you how to take some of these machines "one the road" using Android tablets and phones. Amaze your friends by running a room-full of 1970s and 1980s technology on more capable hardware. It's a presentation you won't want to miss!

**Open Stack Provisioning: Cloud-init**

You click 'run' on the OpenStack dashboard, or launch a new instance via the api.  Some provisioning magic happens and soon you've got a server created especially for you.  Did you ever wonder what magic happens to a standard image on boot?  Have you wanted to launch instances and have them into your infrastructure with no manual interaction?  

Cloud-init is software that runs in most linux instances.  It can take your input and do your bidding.  Learn what things cloud-init magically does for you and how you can make it do more.

Scott Moser is a member of the Ubuntu Server and Openstack Team.  He has been involved in Openstack since around Cactus time frame.  He is maintainer of cloud-init, and has had a focal role in the production of the Official Ubuntu Cloud Images.

**Elections**

We'll be holding our annual elections for MUG board members. Any currently paid-up member is eligible to run. Nominations for board members (yourself included) may be sent to board at mug.org.

**Raffle**

Pearson Education has graciously donated several books and videos that we'll be giving away at the April meeting. Raffle is open to all paid pmembers, and you must be present to win. More details will be posted on the Announce mailing list (links to subscribe are on the MUG website).

Pluis we'll have our usual features (jobs looking for people, people looking for jobs) and much much more!
